Tyson Schroeder the BBQ promoter!
We've been following Tyson for a while now over at @big_schroeds_bbq on Instagram, and you should too. He's clearly having fun with the flame and kicks out great looking dishes every week. From bacon-wrapped pickles to Southwest Stuffed Pork Loin, Tyson kicks out meals with Croix Valley products that we'd love to sink our teeth into.
Tyson grew up in Lumsden, Saskatchewan, and now resides in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, with his wife and two children. He's a correctional officer and spends his spare time taking his young children to their activities, watching football, and of course - BBQ'ing.
Let's learn a little more...
When did you get into grilling, and how often do you fire it up?
I first got into BBQing about 10 years ago.
Depending on our schedule at home I try to fire up a grill a couple times a week.
Name one grilling technique you’ve learned that has served you well.
The biggest lesson/technique I've learned is that it's temp not time, every piece of meat is different.
What’s the most unique thing you’ve grilled or cooked?
The most unique thing I've smoked might be a shrimp cocktail.
Tell us about your most memorable day around the grill.
Any time you can be around the grill, cooking for family and friends, is a great day. Birthdays, anniversaries, any chance to celebrate.
Last but not least, what are your favorite Croix Valley products?
My favorite Croix Valley products have to be the Pineapple Habanero BBQ and Wing Sauce and the Croix Valley Greek BBQ Booster.
